Course Overview
This course provides progression from the Administration of Medication Essential Level course. This is a full day classroom-based training session for people working with children and vulnerable people in settings where medication competency and management is a focus. This course aims to support learners to learn the audit process, the legislation and guidance and the management of medication in the workplace. The course features a range of group work, activities and discussions to enhance learner skill development. This training session can be accessed via a link and is accessible from a range of devices including IOS and Android platforms.
This course offers a blended learning approach including a short scenario, a workbook, infographics and a classroom style training session.
Aims & Objectives
- Identify and improve poor practice.
Understand Legislation and Guidance. - Demonstrate competency in the Audit Process.
- Understand competency assessment incl. methods, feedback, recording and reflective practice.
- Identify Safe Management of Medicines in the workplace incl. roles, types, names and forms of medication, routes and levels of administration, receiving, storage and disposal of medicines, controlled drugs, dosage and strength, recording, compromised medication, refusal, errors, side-effects and adverse reactions
