Course Overview
This is a half day classroom-based training session for people working with children and vulnerable adults. Learners will be supported to understand Oral Hygiene, reflect on their practice in relation to this and understand the different types and effects of each, this will then support learners to share and improve Oral Hygiene for the people they support and care for. The course features a range of group work, activities including role play and discussions to enhance learner skill development. This training session can be accessed via a link and is accessible from a range of devices including IOS and Android platforms.
This course offers a blended learning approach including a short scenario, a workbook, infographics and a classroom style training session.
Aims & Objectives
- Understand what Oral Care is and how to support this in children and vulnerable adults.
- Describe how to check for problems including dentures, oral thrush and oral care concerns.
- Understand the relationship between Oral Care and Dementia
- Implement Oral Care champions and how they contribute to Health Assessments and Care Plans.
